In backdrop of US oil sanctions, Iran Foreign minister to meet Sushma Swaraj tomorrow

Home Ministry Cancels Registration Of Infosys Foundation

NDTV May 13,2019 NEW DELHI:  The Home Ministry has cancelled the registration of Bengaluru-based NGO Infosys Foundation for alleged violation of norms in receiving foreign grants, officials said Monday. All non-government organisations (NGOs) are mandatorily required to be registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act or FCRA to receive foreign funding. The Home Ministry had last year served show cause notice to Infosys Foundation for failing to submit annual income and expenditure statement on foreign funding for up to six years despite repeated reminders, officials said. The registration was cancelled as Infosys Foundation allegedly did not file income and expenditure statement on foreign funding for the past few years, they said. As per FCRA guidelines, registered associations are required to submit electronically an online annual report with scanned copies of income and expenditure statement, receipts and payment account, balance sheet, etc., for every

All districts affected by Fall Armyworm

The Sangai Express Dated May 13,2019 IMPHAL, May 12: Maize plantations in Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts too have been invaded by Fall Armyworm which means all the districts of the State have been affected by the highly invasive pest which can cause extensive damage to standing crops within a very short time. According to information received from Agriculture Department, reports of extensive damages on maize plantations by Fall Army have been coming from different quarters of the State. Meanwhile, the department has been working to spray pesticides at all the areas affected by the pest within the coming week. Govt panel considered selling ONGC's biggest oilfields to pvt firms: Report

The Business Standard March 14,2019 State-owned ONGC's nine biggest  oil and gas fields including Mumbai High and Vasai East came tantalizing close to being sold to private and foreign companies but the plan was nixed after strong opposition from within the government, sources said. A high-level committee headed by Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar late last year considered "transferring" western offshore  oil and gas fields of Mumbai High, Heera, D-1, Vasai East and Panna as well as Greater Jorajan and Geleki field in Assam, Baghewala in Rajasthan and Kalol oilfield in Gujarat to private/foreign companies.
