 The Indian Express December 22, 2020 The implementation of the ongoing Russia-India defence deals, including the supply of a batch of  S-400  missile systems, is advancing well despite the threat of US sanctions, the Russian embassy in Delhi said on Monday. The Russian embassy also said that India should not be worried about its relationship with Pakistan but noted that Moscow is committed to develop ties with Islamabad as it is a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). While efforts are still on to further defuse tensions, Russia appears to be playing a key role in brokering peace. Indian officials have been in touch with the Russian government both before the 15 June clashes and afterwards. The Indian Express June 24, 2020 Posted by Subhajit Roy Russia has emerged, all of a sudden, as a key diplomatic player amid the tension between India and China. *  On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hosts the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral foreign ministers’ meeting, which will be the first opportunity for External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi for face-time with each other over videoconference. Jaishankar and Wang, who is also Chinese State Councillor, had an angry phone call on June 17 over the June 15 border clash, in which  20 Indian soldiers were killed . *  On Wednesday, Moscow will  host Defence Minister Rajnath Singh  and his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, who will attend the  Victory Day parade  on June 24, along with Indian and Chinese marching contingents.
