Nipah virus: Saudi bans fruits, vegetables from Kerala

 Against the back drop of Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala, Saudi Arabia has banned import of fruits and vegetables from Kerala. The Environmental Ministry issued an order in this regard on Saturday.

The ministry gave instructions to related departments to implement the order at the earliest.

Saudi Arabia does large-scale import of fruits and vegetables from Kerala. The ban is expected to affect the economy of Kerala.
