Reliance Industries Becomes First Company To Cross Rs. 6 Lakh Crore Market Cap

New Delhi: Market valuation of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) crossed the Rs. 6 lakh crore-mark at the close of trade on Wednesday, becoming the first company to reach this milestone. Reliance Industries commanded a market capitalisation or M-Cap of Rs. 6,03,097.82 crore or about $93 billion when the stock market closed. Shares of Reliance Industries ended 1.22 per cent higher at Rs. 952.30 on the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange). During the day, they had jumped 1.76 per cent to Rs. 957.40. 

On the NSE, the company's stock rose by 1.24 per cent to close at Rs. 952.55. RIL's market valuation had on October 24 crossed the Rs. 6 lakh crore mark for a brief period on the NSE. 

In terms of equity volume, 4.56 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over 80 lakh shares changed hands at the NSE during the day.

RIL is the country's most valued firm, followed by TCS (Rs. 4,98,193.35 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs.4,70,765.09 crore), ITC (Rs. 3,28,592.95 crore) and HDFC (Rs. 2,79,356.92 crore) in the top five list.
