Flipkart buys IT repair services firm F1 Info Solutions

E-commerce major Flipkart has acquired Maharashtra-based mobile and IT repair services company F1 Info Solutions for an undisclosed amount. Flipkart will integrate F1 Info with its company Jeeves, a third part service provider for large and small appliances and furniture. F1 Info was founded in 2012 and has a distributed-repair service network of around 158 centres across 135 cities. While the acquisition will help Jeeves expand Flipkart’s offerings to entire lifecycle of electronic products sold on Flipkart to after-sales and repair services, it will also help eBay India which mainly deals with secondhand products and goods. F1 Info Solutions co-founder and CEO Shammi Moza will join Flipkart as a senior director and will continue to hold responsibility for the business. He will report to Abhijit Upadhye, vice-president at Flipkart and the head of Jeeves. According to F1 Info’s RoC filing, just before announcing the acquisition, Shammi Moza was allotted 47,500 shares of F1 Info in this month.
Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said, “Having created the market for online smartphones from scratch, we’re now taking our offerings several notches higher. F1 Info Solutions is an entrenched player in this segment, and its expertise and scale is a big capability add-on for us”.“Ultimately, we want to give our customers a comprehensive service ecosystem that takes care of the repair and service needs of all their products. With Jeeves and F1 Info Solutions now, we’re closer to that goal”, he added. The acquisition adds complementary capabilities to Jeeves’ existing expertise in large appliances and furniture, along with a huge network of service centres, said Flipkart in a statement. F1 Info Solutions is also a service partner of several global mobile and IT brands such as Apple, Samsung, HP, Lenovo, Sony and Asus.

As financial insecurity rises in urban India, so does investment in insurance

Up to 58% of them fret over financial independence post retirement, which is a 4% increase from last year. ED tracks Swiss Bank A/Cs of Agusta scamster

The Poineer February 10,2019 Rakesh K Singh The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has tracked a dozen Swiss bank accounts in the name of Rajiv Saxena, who is key accused in the Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam. The ED has also found out accounts held by  his family members and associates where the kickbacks in the now scrapped deal were allegedly parked. Two bank accounts are in the name of Rajiv Saxena’s  associates Pankaj Jain and Sumita Jain who are also the authorised signatories. The  third is in the name of another associate Ajit Singh Bubber, but Rajiv and his family members are authorised signatories. The remaining nine accounts are largely owned and operated by Rajiv, his family members and associates. Rajiv Saxena was deported by the UAE authorities on January 30 and the ED formally arrested him the next day and a court later granted his remand to the agency.
